![]() | About Lanark Community Programs |
We are celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2009.
Who Are We?
As part of Lanark Health & Community Services, Lanark Community Programs is an agency whose purpose is to provide support services to children and families, especially those made more vulnerable by developmental, physical or economic limitations.
What Do We Offer?
In 1979 we began with two programs and four staff. We now have many core programs: Infant and Child Development, Early Integration, Speech and Language Development, Behaviour Development, Therapeutic Riding, Family Relief, Connections and the Early Start Autism Initiative. We currently have 70+ full time staff, over 500 contract workers and are fortunate to have over 80 dedicated volunteers.
How Do We Do It?
Here's how. We:- Connect with individuals or families in their own everyday settings: home, work, child care settings, schools, or other day programs.
- Design a plan that is unique to each family or individual
- Work with other community agencies, child care providers, or schools to help a person develop to their full potential
- Provide information and workshops for parents, the general public, and other organizations.
Committed to Community
Lanark Community Programs (LCP) is very committed to community development. If a needed service is not available in the county then LCP will work tirelessly with other community services to ensure its creation through contributions of financial resources and/or LCP staff expertise. In preceding years over a dozen new organizations have come into being through such collaborative efforts.
