Tummy Time Please!

The Canadian Paediatric Society advocates that the safest way for a baby to sleep is on their back, but that supervised awake “tummy time” will support their overall early physical development.  Tummy time can start as young as a few days old and can be for very brief periods of time, several times a day.  Don’t be discouraged if your little one does not like “tummy time” at first.  Every minute of tummy time makes a difference and will help your baby learn to love it!

Here are some positions that encourage tummy time;

a baby on it's tummy on mom's tummy
a baby on it's tummy on a pillow
a baby on its tummy on it's mom's lap
a baby on it's tummy on mom's arms
baby on tummy with Dad
happy baby playing with a toy
a baby on it's tummy over mom's leg
